The Department of Human Services (DHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG), Business Integration and Analytics Division seeks a highly skilled and motivated Experience Design Strategist To develop and implement the user research, engagement, and design strategy for diverse audiences of OIG product user, bringing OIG’s mission and vision to life. The Office of Inspector General strives to deliver leading edge background study, licensing, and program integrity services to promote the health, safety, and well-being of children and adults. In support of this mission, the incumbent will: • Develop, implement, oversee, and evaluate a robust user experience design strategy for the OIG Enterprise Provider and Agency Hub that captures an efficient and intuitive end-to-end experience for diverse and multicultural internal and external Hub users informed by deep knowledge and understanding of user needs; • Lead, plan, coordinate, and facilitate targeted and ongoing stakeholder engagement and user research with each user persona, including developing and implementing a user research plan that includes both generative and evaluative research to understand user behaviors, needs, motivations, pain points, and barriers across key moments in user journeys, as well as convert findings into actionable recommendations, inform design decisions, and validate existing and future system designs and delivery structures; • Design, validate, deliver, and evaluate an optimal user experience that is accessible, equitable, consistent, and cohesive across the entire user journey using a human-centered design approach in a rapidly changing, Agile, iterative environment; • Foster equity through digital accessibility and inclusive design across the OIG Enterprise Provider and Agency Hub, serve as a subject matter expert on accessibility, and ensure the end-to-end user journey and experience supports users across the full spectrum of abilities, languages, cultures, and environments, including compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and, • Chair a cross-functional governance team to establish and align experience design standards, templates, tools, and best practices across the product line for consistency, including providing leadership, facilitating collaboration between designers, and identifying improvement opportunities.
